A note on anonymous comments

Just a quick clarification on the comments that will be cleared for moderation on this blog. Obviously, most people don't have a Blogger account and some of the funniest and most insightful comments I've read have been from people who are listed as anonymous, because they don't have an account - or any need for one.

But I'm afraid I don't publish comments that are snide, abusive or offensive, if they come from someone who is hiding behind the Internet to speak as rudely as they'd like.

  1. Thanks for this comment about anonymous comments.I am one of those persons without an account, but never intend to be inappropriate.Your comment makes persons like myself feel welcome.

  2. My pleasure, and thank you very much for taking the time to comment!

  3. And thank you for replying.I enjoy your site.

  4. I was getting an average of 48 anonymous comments EVERY day. Never rude; just long long comments, relentlessly flogging knock-off Louis Vuitton products or Viagra or Ugg Boots. gggrrrrrr

I have now barred all anonymous comments, even though it eliminates good people who simply don't have an account or any need for one.

  5. Just stumbled upon your blog and I'm glad to found such an extensive insight in Tudor history etc. By default of a guestbook I dare to leave this note here ;)
